Huh, okay! I guess I'll keep checking... [He laughs cheerfully, tucking his pillow under one arm so it won't fall and waving Itona forward with the other one.]
Let's go!
[If they get lost again, they can just turn around. There's plenty of corridors, and one of them will have to lead to the gym eventually.
They might even have time to sleep when they get there.]
[He walks next to Gon since it doesn't really matter who would lead the way now, the corridors are probably going to change anyways.]
I wonder how does it work, though. They're taking our possessions and putting them inside our lockers once a month. That's sounds doable, even though we're from different places...but taking our powers?
[Late hour like now is just perfect to think about all of school's mysteries.]
There are some abilities that can steal powers from other people. [There was Leol, for one, and Kuroro, so it wasn't just a Chimera Ant ability. Probably any Conjurer who could come up with a conjured item that would store and use someone else's power could develop that skill if they wanted to.]
The fact that it makes us weaker is really weird, though. Unless it's using our strength somehow, too...
I wonder if everybody got weaker? Or just the strong people?
[If everyone's weaker, then shouldn't the people who started out normal have trouble doing things like climbing stairs or carrying their bags? Gon hasn't seen anyone struggling, even people like Hitoka who say they don't have any special abilities at all.]
Steal powers from other people? [He repeats, giving it a thought. Itona never met anyone with such powers and he doesn't regret that. He's not sure if his powers are still here, but they're just deactivated or if they were taken away from him for good.]
My classmate never had any special powers, but he's definitely not weak now. So I guess it's not like everybody got weaker. Just us, the people who had some kind of...power.
[He's not good at explanations, but he truly hopes Gon will get the meaning.]
[... Some long stories Gon likes telling. Some long stories he really doesn't. This one is still new and raw enough to be in the latter category. He laughs uncomfortably.]
So I guess the only thing this place took away from me is just regular strength!
[Itona's usually oblivious when it comes to a situation like this and normally would try to get the information out from him, even by force. But when a guy like Gon doesn't want to tell him something, it's probably no use. Besides, if it was the opposite and Gon would ask him about his other powers, he would be probably the same.
So he gives up, at least for now.]
That can be regained, I guess. [By some hard work — he winces at the sole thought.] Now, let's find a place to sleep, I'm beat.
[Gon stretches one arm up behind his head and yawns widely.]
Me too!
[Finding a place to sleep is a great distraction, especially because he is tired, and Itona's even been awake longer, if he was still up and wandering around to find Gon in the courtyard. He speeds up, taking the lead as he darts down the corridor.]
[It's already quite late when they finally reach the gym. Most of the people who decided to spend the night here are mostly asleep or at least lying motionlessly, it's quite hard to tell since it's so dark.]
I guess we should just find a good spot and forget about the towels for tonight. Other's probably have taken them already...
Yeah, you're right. Wow, I didn't think it'd be crowded in here...
[...of course there are a lot of people here, and not too many places to sleep. Especially when it's raining. He shrugs, and plops down next to a wall, fluffing his pillow and tilting sideways onto it.]
[...aw man, Itona saw through him. So Gon'll have to meet him here tomorrow after all, instead of sleeping outside. Maybe he can talk Itona into it if it's not raining tomorrow, though?
There's probably not much of a chance of that. It's rained a lot. He pouts, just a little, and tries to squash the pillow into something taller and less uncomfortable.]

[Gon's really frowning now, deep in thought rather than angry.]
... But I, um... didn't. Anymore.
no subject
You didn't...what? What do you mean?

Maybe tomorrow!

[There's not much of the free space left, so he settles down just a few steps away from Gon.]
Yeah, maybe. We'll just have to come here earlier. So don't you think about sleeping outside or anything of the sort.
